Church of God in Christ, Mennonite [Canada]

The Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, was organized by the evangelist-reformer John Holdeman in Ohio. The church unites with the faith of the Waldensians, Anabaptists and other such groups throughout history. Emphasis is placed on obedience to the teachings of the Bible, including the doctrine of the new birth and spiritual life, noninvolvement in government or the military, head-coverings for the women, beards for the men and separation from the world shown by simplicity in clothing, homes, possessions and lifestyle. The church has a worldwide membership of about 25,500, largely concentrated in the United States and Canada.
