Religions for Peace-USA, Inc.

Religions for Peace-USA, formerly the United States Conference of Religions for Peace, began in the 1970's as a program area and chapter of the World Conference of Religions for Peace (now known simply as Religions for Peace), the world's largest representative interreligious organization. Today, the organization is separately incorporated and registered as an independent 501(c)(3) and focuses its mandate on U.S.-based issues, while retaining a strong link to the international work of the Religions for Peace. As the largest and most broadly based representative multi-religious forum in the United States, RFP-USA engages the religious leaders and experts in interreligious affairs and peace and justice of more than 50 religious traditions. By building on the spiritual, human, and institutional resources of these communities, RFP-USA establishes cooperative efforts among them to address shared challenges. Primary areas of concern for the organization include building interreligious relationships, creating mutual understanding amidst the country's increasing diversity, and examining the role of the U.S. as a citizen of the global community, with particular regard to peace, human rights, and development.
